The Blue Blindfold campaign, based on a concept initially developed by the UK Human Trafficking Centre encouraging people not to close their eyes to human trafficking, was adapted and launched by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit back in 2009.

Our website can be accessed to find a range of information on the trafficking of persons including the indicators of human trafficking.

Members of the public can confidentially report suspicions or any information which could further trafficking investigations by contacting the Crimestoppers 1800 25 00 25 hotline, or by e-mailing These contact details are available on the website as are details of victim supports, annual reports, national action plans etc.

A key element of the campaign involves a range of promotional materials displaying the above hotline number and e-mail address on mugs, pens, key rings, lip balm, bookmarks, newspaper advertisements, posters, information stands, strip line and column advertisements on the Luas and, in October 2014, on a six-floor sized banner on Liberty Hall Dublin to mark EU Human Trafficking Day.
