Locum Probation Officer

Department of Justice and Equality

The Probation Service wishes to establish a Locum Probation Officer panel to fill short term priority vacancies.


Entry Qualification:

Bachelor of Social Science degree or equivalent qualification recognised for entry to a Masters in Social Work and one year’s experience.
OR
NQSW/Masters in Social Work.


Salary:
€27,664 (per anum)


A panel will be used to fill short term priority vacancies which may arise in any of the 30 Probation Service locations nationwide. The length of appointments may vary, however, it is expected that it would be between 6 and 10 months. Posts to be filled from the panel will be offered to those placed highest on the panel as they become available for whatever length required and in the location required.

Selection of candidates for the panel will be made through short-listing followed by competitive interview. It is expected that interviews will be scheduled for early to mid December.
